Specialties for the Pharmaceutical and Agrochemcial Industry
The bridge between the scientific research in the chemical industry and its application in the pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals is built by Solvay Fluor GmbH. Highly pure fluorine specialties such as Solkaneâ 227 pharma and Solkaneâ 134a pharma are suited as ideal propellants für medical sprays which are used to medicate pulmonary and respiratory tract diseases. These products are medically compatible and transport the active ingredients in an optimal way. Besides the new Solkane formulations, the CF3 /CF2 specialties form an additional focal point at the CPhI. Thanks to their specific properties, the fluoroorganic compounds make it possible to use lower dosages of medicaments. For example, they improve the solubility in fat and, by this, they ensure that the molecules can reach the cells easier. Thus a better bioavailability and higher stability result in a higher efficiency of active substances.
